Coal Exploration

Exploration drilling in coal is an in-depth investigation activity intended to specifically trace the distribution of coal. Coal drilling is expected to obtain a subsurface image for modelling to determine the existing resources. There are three methods of coal drilling:

  • Open Hole
  • Full Core
  • Touch Core

Coal samples are taken from the drilling results to analyse their quality and meet geotechnical as well as geohydrological requirements.

Mineral Exploration

It is a series of activities conducted to obtain data in the form of samples or rock specimens. The commodities being prospected for include:

  • Laterite
  • Gold
  • Tin, and
  • Quartz Sand

Drilling is using a drilling machine with specific capacity. This process is assisted by manpower, consisting of a coordinator, operator, wellsite personnel, and several crew members. Exploration activities are capital-intensive and require support from well-equipped drilling units and competent human resources. Thorough planning and sufficient preparation are essential to initiate exploration drilling effectively and achieve drilling efficiency.

Geotechnical Drilling

Geotechnical drilling including mining and construction is also essential for determining the slope stability in mining areas such as pits, haulage routes, and other infrastructure and also knowing the type of foundation that will be used for building construction is essential. From the results of this investigation, we can determine the most suitable foundation for the planned construction. This testing process also involves the use of soil testing equipment to obtain optimal results. Geotechnical drilling methods including:
